World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated annually from August 1st to 7th, 2023. To mark this occasion, the Department of Community Medicine organized a range of engaging activities. These included the creation of vibrant Rangoli designs, expressive sketches, and thought-provoking slogan writing. Moreover, a street play, known as Nukkad Natak, was performed by our dedicated interns on August 5th, 2023. The primary aim of these events was to raise awareness about the crucial significance of breastfeeding.

The event received esteemed guests, including our respected Dean, Dr. Sadhna Sanwatsarkar. Notably, the Academic Incharge, Dr. Poonam Gaur, was also present. The event was graced by the entire faculty of the Community Medicine department, featuring distinguished individuals such as Dr. Sonia Tiwari (Professor & Head of Department), Dr. Neelima Sharma, Dr. Chetan Sharma, Dr. Neetu Maurya, Dr. Rohit Patel, Dr. Aayush Nema, and Dr. Kamlendra Kumar. Additionally, our dedicated support staff, consisting of MSW (Miss Upama Maurya) and Nursing Staff (Mrs. Sunita, Miss Baisi, and Mrs. Parwati), played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the event.

The centerpiece of the event was a captivating Nukkad Natak performed by our talented interns. The participants in this engaging street play were Dr. Abha Silawat, Dr. Akshya Rathore, Dr. Priyanka Nagpure, Dr. Udit Katare, Dr. Prakhar Rathi, Dr. Shravntee, and Dr. Shubham Satpude.

The overall aim of these initiatives was to impart valuable knowledge to antenatal mothers and the general public regarding the manifold benefits of breastfeeding. The collective efforts of the department, faculty, interns, and supporting staff resulted in a successful and impactful celebration of World Breastfeeding Week 2023.
