On the occasion of World Pharmacist Day 2024, LNCT School of Pharmacy, Indore hosted a series of celebrations to honour the vital role pharmacists play in healthcare. The theme for this year resonated with promoting the accessibility of pharmacists as key healthcare professionals, dedicated to improving medication management and reducing errors.
The event fostered a greater awareness of the significance of pharmacists in safeguarding community health. The celebration featured Mrs. Archana Mehta, Deputy General Manager of IPCA Laboratories, as the guest speaker. Mrs. Mehta shared valuable insights into the evolving role of pharmacists in healthcare, emphasizing their contribution to patient safety and medicine management along with role of QC in Pharmaceutical Industry.
Additionally, a thyroid health camp was organized as part of the event, with support from Abbott Pharmaceuticals. This initiative provided free thyroid screenings, showcasing the importance of preventive healthcare and raising awareness about thyroid health issues.
On this occasion, competitions like Pharma Rangoli, Working Model and Poster Presentation along with Drama Dance etc. were also organised. Dr. Amit Joshi, Principal, LNCT School of Pharmacy in his welcoming address said that pharmacists are not only experts in medicines, but they are also important pillars of the health care system.
Their job is not only to provide medicines, but also to give correct information related to their health to the patients, make them aware about the correct use of medicines and provide health education. The contribution of pharmacists is very important in meeting global health needs. On this occasion all the staff members actively participated and encouraged the students participants of the competition. The event was a part of LNCT group broader commitment to educating future pharmacists while promoting community health and wellness.
